Cortijo Palomar De La Morra

Cortijo Palomar de la Morra is located in Pozoblanco, a municipality in the province of Cordoba, 3km from the centre of Pozoblanco, in the heart of the Pedroches Valley. It has perfect access and is well connected to the city of Cordoba and the train station that connects to Cordoba and Madrid, among other destinations.

It is an area of pastureland, so nature is the strong point of the Cortijo Palomar de la Morra country house, where you can enjoy the local animals such as the Merino sheep, the Retinta cow and the Iberian pig, as well as the extensive grounds of ancient holm oaks, which will make your stay a real pleasure in the heart of nature.

Rooms and common areas

The accommodation has a capacity of 15 people, with the possibility of extending up to 20.

It has eight bedrooms, six bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with an authentic wood-burning oven and three large living rooms with fireplaces, a typical Andalusian farmhouse. The finca has central heating, television, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and Wifi connection.

The outdoor area has large green areas, swimming pool with garden, sports courts where you can play paddle tennis, football or basketball and less than 1 kilometre away you can play golf, horse riding or shooting, as it is close to the municipal golf courses.

Activities and events in Palomar de la Morra

The estate has long trails, designed by the company “Monte Andaluz”, offering a classic route through the historic environment of Palomar and its popular pasture.

This pasture is famous for its hams, with the Protected Designation of Origin of Los Pedroches. You have the opportunity to get an insight into the world of the Pure Acorn-fed Iberian Pig, learning about its birth and rearing in the wild. There you have the opportunity to buy Iberian products produced by the farm.

Cortijo Palomar de la Morra not only offers the spectacular accommodation of the estate, you can also organise any type of celebration such as weddings, communions, baptisms, family reunions, a meeting between friends…

It has a large hall with a capacity for 200 people and an industrial kitchen to offer the typical gastronomy of the region.

Its interior and exterior spaces, as well as stunning views, make the cortijo a place that will surprise your guests.

Cortijo La Panadera

Cortijo La Panadera is located 3 km from Pedroche, the village that gives its name to the region, and 12 km from Pozoblanco, the main village of the region where you can play golf, fishing, shooting, horse-riding, etc…

It is a Cortijo built in 1920 and refurbished in 2009 with great care to respect the comfort demanded by a modern house while respecting tradition.

Rooms and common areas

The two-storey house is distributed around a central courtyard. On the upper floor, with wooden beamed ceilings, are the bedrooms and their respective bathrooms. On the lower floor there are more bedrooms and a bright and spacious vaulted dining room with fireplace. In total there are 14 beds in 6 spacious bedrooms, one of which is adapted.

The living room with fireplace contains a brick vault, all with stone walls originating from the initial construction in 1920. In the 150 m2 courtyard there is a country kitchen, barbecue, wood oven and toilets. It also has a swimming pool with garden area and natural grass.

Environment

As its name suggests, Cortijo La Panadera used to produce wheat fields from which quality flour was obtained to make excellent bread baked in a wood-fired oven, which can now be bought, as in the past, in the nearby village of Pedroche. Set in a 200-hectare livestock farm where the livestock graze freely, we find Merino sheep, Retinta cows and Iberian pigs whose hams are marketed under the Denomination of Origin of Los Pedroches.

The Toledo-Cordoba-Granada Royal Road, along which the Catholic Monarchs travelled on their visit to Granada, stands out for its numerous livestock trails. A transhumance route that left a legacy of folklore, customs and culture, and which can be travelled on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.

3 km from Pedroche, the village that gives its name to the region, with its church and tower built by the Hernán Ruiz generation of architects. And 12 km from Pozoblanco, the head town of the region, where you can play golf, fishing, shooting, horse riding, etc.
